Ardeth Ray Dye (Art) of Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted family on August 13, 2024.

Art was born in Painesville, Ohio to Ardeth J. and Margaret (Szabo) Dye. He was the beloved husband of Lauradel (Koll) Dye who he married June 19th, 1965.

Art graduated from Riverside High School, joined the Army as Military Police at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland. After the military service, Art worked at Republic Steel. He then began his sales career working at Del Steffen and Associates alongside his uncle and cousins. Later, he started his own business, North Central Marketing, continuing to sell electronic components. He loved meeting new clients and creating lasting relationships with his customers.

After retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively with family and friends visiting, Italy, New Zealand, Alaska, Hong Kong, Turkey and many counties in Europe. He was an avid backyard hunter. Art volunteered hundreds of hours at Stella Maris giving support to others and sharing his wisdom. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 34 years and a beacon of hope for many people. He loved Sundays for making his special breakfasts, for community at his Church and watching the Browns, the Indians and NASCAR races. Art was happy to travel to watch the Texas Longhorns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He continued service to others by greeting patients and physicians each morning as they arrived at Lake West Hospital.

Ardeth is survived by Lauradel (wife of 59 years); his children Jennifer (Ron) Ferris, Allison (Jude) Violante, Joanna (Josh) Barney; his grandchildren, Ronald Michael III, Natalie Elizabeth, Samantha Caroline Ferris, Jude Gabriel, Luke Gerald and Margaret Rae Violante, Joshua Carter, and Noah Ray Barney. He will be missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all agree that Art was a good and kind man.

Visitation will be at 11:00 am and services at 12 noon on Saturday, August 17th at Mayfield United Methodist Church 7747 Mayfield Rd. Chesterland, Ohio 44026. Private family interment at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg at a later date. Please share a memory or leave condolences in the area provided below.
