Arthur Belfer, loving husband of 38 years of Lisa, devoted stepfather of Roger and grandfather of Breanna and Giana, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2021.
A nature lover and enthusiast of outdoor activities, Art - along with Lisa and friends, enjoyed playing tennis and bocce, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, bicycling, skiing, kayaking, archery and target practice.
Art was king of the barbecue and relished in hosting patio parties with Lisa during the summer. He always made time to smell the roses, skip stones across the water, hug a tree, have coffee outside with the birds, and spend evenings around the fire pit gazing at the stars.
Art and Lisa enjoyed nature at its finest, vacationing to coastal beaches in Florida and California. A spiritual getaway to a private cabin in the woods by a lake in Pennsylvania created peaceful, lasting memories. Marveling at the imposing redwood forest in California, Art said, 'this is the closest to Heaven as one could get.'
Forever searching for and creating beauty indoors and out, Art crafted unique leaded glass art pieces in the basement studio with Lisa. His whimsical rock sculptures brightened up the gardens that he proudly maintained. He always looked forward to the next endeavor.
An inherent work ethic ensured that Art provided well for his loved ones, and he enjoyed a well-earned retirement during his final years.
Art Belfer leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Lisa, stepson Roger (deceased), brothers Gerald, Donald (deceased), Burton (deceased), sister Charlotte and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Art's memory suggested to: Hospice of the Western Reserve, The Nature Conservancy or Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center.
