It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur John Fenton, age 92, on November 2, 2025.
Arthur was the beloved father of Debbie Fenton (husband Steve Kovalec), Marcy Steward (husband Bryan) and Carolyn Bilek (husband Patrick), devoted grandfather of Estella and Dominic Gray, Ryan, Justin and Mackenzie Scarbrough, dear brother of James Fenton (wife Sheila), John Fenton (deceased) (wife Mary) and Theresa Conti (husband Joe) (both deceased).
Arthur was born in Bronx, New York on June 19, 1933 to the late Arthur and Anna (nee Cangialosi) Fenton. Arthur was a US Navy Veteran and proudly served his country from 1952-1955. He served in the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He worked in communications as a morse code operator.
After graduating with a BBA degree from Pace University in 1962, Arthur earned his MBA degree from NYU in 1968. Arthur had an illustrious career in finance. He began his career working on Wall Street in New York City. He served as Vice President and Investment Officer for Fidelity Union Trust Company. He then moved to the Merrill Lynch Consulting Group as a regional manager and consultant. He worked with various Midwest offi ces assisting them in marketing consulting services. After moving to Cleveland, Ohio he began working at SEI Investments Company as Vice President and Offi ce Manager. Arthur fi nished his career at Callan Associates as Senior Vice President and Consultant. His services included asset allocation analysis and investment policy development. He handled many types of clients including State, Municipal and Police and Fire funds. He retired in 2000. He had a passion for his work and his career was something in which he prided himself.
He was an avid golfer, painter, singer and actor, performing in various community theaters throughout his life. Some of his favorite roles were the leprechaun 'Og' in Finian’s Rainbow, 'Senex' in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, 'Lt. Brannigan' in Guys and Dolls, 'Sancho Panza' in Man of la Mancha, 'Mr. Jordan' in Heaven Can Wait and 'First Gangster' in Kiss Me Kate.
Arthur will be remembered as a gentleman who was kind and had a giving soul. He was the ‘life of the party’ and a man you can always count on. Arthur will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and great friends. He will always be in our memories, on our minds and in our hearts.
Family and Friends are invited to gather for Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Saturday, November 15th, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills, OH 44040. Private interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
