Barbara JoAnn Jayme (nee Silvestro)
of Pepper Pike, Ohio, died peacefully in her hospital bed with family and friends by her side July 25, 2022. She had just celebrated her 78th birthday being born July 22, 1944, by her parents Robert and Della Silvestro in Lyndhurst, Ohio. She is survived by her immediate family including her husband Don Orsini, brother Robert J. Silvestro Jr., sons John E. Jayme IV, Robert K. Jayme and Jeffrey A. Jayme, and grandchildren Joseph, Abigail, Elizabeth and Nicholas. Other close surviving relatives include her sister-in-law Ruth Hatcher, her husband, Roger, brother-in-law Al Straka, nephew Darren Straka, and nieces Donna Mahoney and Debora Rickli.
Barbara graduated from Orange High School in 1962. She attended Ohio University for two years before starting her family in Chagrin Falls then moving to Moreland Hills to educate her sons through Orange Schools. She accomplished many things while being a full-time mother, especially in her work as a licensed realtor and manager over her 25 year career. She was very proud to be awarded Manager Of The Year by Smythe Cramer in her third year as manager. She went on to successfully train many of Howard Hanna's managers and realtors earning her great industry wide respect. In 2013 she retired to her love for reading books, writing a children's book, cooking gourmet meals for family, loving her dog, Zinny, and creating cooking scrap books. Earlier in her life she found loves for wheeling pottery and different art methods, gardening, and volunteering with The Cleveland Orchestra and enrolled in many classes at Urseline college always proud while enjoying being top of any class.
Barbara stayed close to her parents who owned Pepper Pike's The Lion & The Lamb Inn at Lander Circle. She led our family to attend regular Sunday dinners with her Italian immigrant grandparents, Lester & Carmen Silvestro in Mayfield Heights growing up. She was an incredible provider and gift giver. She managed her checkbook to the penny daily. Her unmistaken charm and elegant beauty made her a favorite to so many. Her quick wit and creative mind shined. She maintained a high level of integrity for her appearance but loved to relax alone in her pajamas with her books too. Ultimately though, her sons were her focus offering them a secure and loving food packed household to visit or stay for any reason. She sacrificed so much for us and we will always be grateful and in love with her and the memories we shared together. Her presence will be deeply missed as heaven receives her blessed and loving soul. May God bless her with eternal peace.
