CARMELO FURNARI

Carmelo Furnari, age 92. Beloved husband of Domenica (nee Buemi). Loving father of Frank (wife Chris), Angela Di Penti (husband Mark) and Domenick. Devoted grandfather of Mark, Anthony, Mario, Carmen, Frank and Michelle. Great grandfather of Hannah, Cecily, Marisa, Dustin and Gianna. Carmelo was an inspiration to all of us. He was a young soldier who fought with pride and a man of great courage who took on Hitler by saving the lives of many Jews in Rome by alerting them to the arrival of the SS. He was an immigrant who left Sicily for America to better the lives of his family and future generations. He was a hardworking, loving husband, father, and grandfather. We will all miss him greatly. He will always be an inspiration to all of us. He is now in the presence of our Father God and we will be with him again.
