Carmine Camino

December 3, 1950 — August 1, 2021

CARMINE CAMINO, age 70

Beloved son of Paul and Carmela Camino (both deceased). Best friend and uncle of Nicolas Fini. Loving brother of Vicky Marinelli (Joseph) and Paula Camino-Fini (Ron). Devoted and cherished uncle of Anthony Marinelli, Lisa Flannery (Paul) and Vincent Fini. Great uncle of Paul Joseph and Giulia Flannery. Special nephew of Josephine Camino, nephew and cousin to many.

Carmine was a 1969 graduate of Brush High School. He went on to attend John Carroll University for three years and earned his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Carmine attended the University of Detroit, first graduating with an M.A., followed by a J.D. in 1979. He was a practicing attorney in Cleveland for over 40 years.

Carmine was not only an accomplished attorney, but a true Renaissance man. Throughout his life, he was an avid reader on a wide range of subjects, from philosophy and history to his current interests of sports training, wine and prosciutto curing. A lover of the arts, he was also a talented painter. Carmine was an accomplished ballroom dancer, teaching locally and competing state-wide for 35 years. His athletic prowess as a young man, playing on the Brush, John Carroll and UC-Santa Barbara soccer teams, led him to a life-long pursuit of physical fitness. A music aficionado, Carmine was a life-long Beatles fan. He had an understated witty and sharp sense of humor, demonstrated by his favorite fictional characters of Bullwinkle J. Moose, Daffy Duck and Curly Howard.

Words are inadequate to describe the impact Carmine had on everyone in his life. He was a mentor to many of his clients and friends. His manner was unassuming, but his presence packed a big wallop. Carmine was a Servant-Leader: a mentor and confidante to friends, clients and family near and far; a calming presence to everyone who knew him.

Most of all, Carmine was completely devoted to his family. He was the person everyone leaned upon. Carmine was the shining light to all those in his orbit.
