Carole Bernadette (Pestino) Horton, of South Euclid, passed away in the early morning hours of July 6, 2020,
at Hospice of Western Reserve. She was 76 years old.
It would be wrong to say that Carole lost her battle to kidney disease because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Carole stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Carole. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight.
Carole was born to the late Nick and Rose Pestino, April 22, 1944, in Cleveland, OH. Carole graduated from Charles F. Brush High School and then attended Dyke College, where she met her sweetheart Jim Horton, partner in life for over 55 years.
Carole is survived by her husband Jim and three children Tom (wife, Karen), of Chagrin Falls, OH, Bob (Tina Scott), of Canton, MI, and Lisa, of South Euclid, OH. She was preceded in death by her loving son, Jamie in 2000. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nick, Jenna, MacKenzie, and Madelyn, who she adored and loved to share her culinary skills. Carole is also survived by her sister Bernadette Dodeci, of Delaware, OH, nieces Sara Dodeci and Carla Dodeci of Columbus, OH.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO GATHER FOR CAROLE'S MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL 11 am MONDAY, JULY 13 AT ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CHURCH OF SACRED HEART OF JESUS PARISH, 1545 S Green Rd., South Euclid, OH 44121.
