CLARA PAWLIKOWSKI (nee Slowinski), age 96, went to be with the Lord on July 11th. Her love of cooking and baking led her to a long-time career as a head cook at both Lower and Upper Hawken School, as well as catering private parties. Visitors never left her home with empty stomachs. In addition to her partents, Andrew and Elizabeth, Clara was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, 51 years ago, sisters Josephine Hampton-Kolonick and Adeline Tuokey, brother James (Anne.) She will be greatly missed by her 2 daughters, Barbara Hartman (Earl, deceased) and Pegi Pyles (Elwin B.), grandsons Eric H., Chip P. (Sabrina L.), Jason P. (Gina), 6 great grandchildren and her beloved cat, Tabby. A very special Thank You from our hearts to caregivers and hospice staff who provided extra-loving care, support and companionship, and to those who tried to care for her. As she wished, cremation has taken place and a private burial service will be held later. Everyone is asked to meet at The Church of St. Clare, 5659 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst 44124 on Tuesday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. for Mass of Christian Burial.
