Clarence Geis

June 26, 1938 — August 19, 2020

Clarence Geis went to be with his Lord on August 19, 2020. Clarence was born in Lousiville, Ohio in 1938. In his early years, he attended Kent State University until he was drafted to serve in the United States Army. After the Army, Clarence met and married the love of his life, Mary Jane D'Agostino. Clarence and Mary Jane then embarked on a successful business career that culminated in the founding of Medical Records Corp. of Maryland in 1979. Mary Jane and Clarence had two daughters Lori Ann Geis Brest and Kristine Ann Geis Skelin. Clarence remained forever devoted to Mary Jane even after her passing in 1994.

Throughout his life, Clarence Geis was a dedicated supporter of the Catholic Church and its charitable causes. Clarence served as Chairman of the Board for the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary Queen of the Universe in Orlando, Florida and subsequently served as Chairman of its Finance Committee. The Shrine was very close to his heart as was his devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary. Prior to his service for the Shrine, Clarence served on multiple Boards and taught Catholicism and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyal in Palm Beach, Florida. Clarence was also an ardent supporter of Bishop Grady Villas which provides residential, vocational and community support for adults with intellectual disabilities. As a result of his dedicated support, in 2018 Clarence was awarded the Bishop Grady Villas Lifetime Legacy Award. Clarence was also passionately committed to the causes served by Catholic Charities of Central Florida. In addition to his devotion to the Catholic Church, Clarence was also a tremendous sports fan- particularly partial to the sport of basketball and his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Clarence is survived by his brother Gary Geis, daughter Lori Ann Brest (Matthew Brest), grandchildren Alyssa Brest and Taylor Brest and his daughter Kristine Ann Skelin (Jeffrey Skelin) and grandchildren Julianne Marie Skelin, Phillip Skelin, Jacob Skelin, Mary Jane Skelin and Sarah Skelin.
