D. Herbert Hummel

D. Herbert Hummel of Beachwood, Ohio passed peacefully on December 6, 2022, at the age of 92.  He was born in Ingomar, Pennsylvania raised by his parents and attended school to become an accountant. He met Dolores (deceased 2020) who became his wife of 62 years.  After having their first child Mark, they moved to Ohio to set down roots and raise their family. They welcomed a daughter, and their family was complete. A lifetime of memories were made in Lyndhurst, Ohio where they raised their family. Herb and Dolly had many friends and attended St. Clare church. They traveled to Germany to see their son and his family on two occasions while Mark was stationed there with the Air Force.  They have traveled with friends to Hawaii and Alaska. Their house was always full of love and laughter. Many Christmas parties will be remembered by family and friends. They have been an example to many for their devotion to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.  They instilled in their children a faithfulness to God, in their Catholic faith, and the strength of the loving bond of family.

Herb is the beloved husband of Dolores Hummel (deceased), father of Mark Hummel (Jean) and Diane Minor (David).  Cherished grandfather of Erin Duke (James), Randi Schilter (Macory), Jennifer Wright (Tony) and Andrew Minor. Great grandfather to Anna, AJ, Isaac, Allie, Caleb, Maria, and Baby boy coming soon. Dearest son of Donald and Wilma Hummel (both deceased). Loving brother of Roger Hummel (deceased).

Interment Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Friday at The Church of Saint Clare, 5659 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst. Friends may call at THE FIORITTO FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD) 4-8 PM THURSDAY.
