DANIEL LOUIS GEORGES, age 63

Cherished twin brother of Thomas Georges (wife Stacy). Uncle of Peter and Olivia Georges and Kennley, Jocelyn and Ivy Maar, son-in-law of Donald and the late Patricia Maar.

Dan was a graduate of Brush High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Biology from John Carrol. After college he started his career as a Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University where he designed and developed software for immunology data entry, export, and analysis for nationwide AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG). As his career developed, he worked for numerous businesses including University Hospitals and IBM.

Dan began piano lessons when he was 6 years old, and took up trumpet when he was 10. He played jazz trumpet since 7th grade, and played in various local big bands, including The Dan Zola Orchestra, Prime Time, Night Coach, and the Emperors of Swing. During college, he played with the Ohio State University Jazz Ensemble, one of the best in the country. He had extensive experience playing musicals in local equity and non-equity theaters such as Cain Park, Chagrin Valley Little Theater, Aurora Community Theater, Brecksville Little Theater, Fairmount Center for the Arts, The Fine Arts Association of Wiloughby, the Beck Center for the Arts, and numerous other venues. He taught many students piano and trumpet throughout the years and helped with the music ministry at Church of the Holy Angels.

Dan also volunteered as Cub Master and Troop Chaplain for one of the local Boy Scout troops in Twinsburg.
