David Mathew Zimmerman

David Mathew Zimmerman, age 62, loving husband of Donna (nee Fisco); devoted father of Mark (w. Maya Brown), Scott (w. Sarah Downing), and Kevin (w. Samantha Buckner); beloved grandfather and "Pocky" of Miles, Julian, Ruby, Nora, and Eliza; loyal son of Bruce and Patricia (both deceased); dear brother of Helen Serbousek, Lucy Cepik, Tim, Noreen Valadez, Bill, Dan, and Amy Vail; and treasured son-in-law of Robert and Mary Fisco.

David was a long time public servant with the Beachwood police department, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, and the City of Mayfield Heights. He was deeply involved in his community, donating countless hours to St. Francis of Assisi Church through the yearly festival, Christmas tree sales, and the maintenance committee. But despite all that, David's number one priority was always his family. After a busy day of work, you would still find David coaching his sons' soccer teams, leading their mock trial teams, and cheering them on in all their endeavors.

David's love, humor, cheer, and selflessness were truly an example to us all. He will be deeply missed by friends and family alike, but we were all honored and blessed to have him in our lives. May God hold him in the palm of His hand until we meet again.

Interment All Souls Cemetery. Family and Friends are invited to gather for Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd., Gates Mills, OH 44040.

Family suggests contributions in David's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Fr. Caddy Scholarship Fund of St. Francis of Assisi Church or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
