Dolores C Hummel

Dolores C. Hummel (nee Heinrichs), age 89, of Beachwood, Ohio passed away on November 10, 2020 after suffering a stroke about one year ago.

Dolly was born on May 8, 1931 to Andrew and Flora Heinrichs in Creighton, PA . After graduating from Aspinwall High School in 1950 she went on to study nursing at Alleghany General Hospital with her sister Lois.

She met D. Herbert Hummel, and they were married in 1958, going on to have 2 children, Mark Alan Hummel and Diane Marie (Hummel) Minor and enjoyed 62 years of marriage.

After a successful career as an RN, in education and as a Director of Nursing she retired in 1991. Dolly spent her retirement enjoying her grandchildren, entertaining and traveling with her husband. They visited Germany, Hawaii and Alaska. They socialized often with their prayer group from St. Clare Church where they have been parishioners since 1968.

Dolly was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Flora Heinrichs, and her sisters Marie Dale and Lois Sweeney. She is survived by her beloved husband, Herb, her children Mark Hummel (Jean), Diane Minor (David), grandchildren Erin Duke (James), Randi Schilter (Macory), Jennifer Wright (Tony), Andrew Minor and great grandchildren Anna, AJ, Isaac, Allie and Caleb. She leaves behind a legacy of marital and motherly love, deep Devotion to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary, and the power of prayer.

PRIVATE Interment Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family and friends invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Thursday Nov 19 at Church of St Clare, 5959 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst. Friends may call at THE FIORITTO FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD) 4-6 PM WEDNESDAY.

SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE ENFORCED AND EVERYONE MUST WEAR A MASK WHILE INDOORS AT ALL EVENTS.
DUE TO THE RISING NUMBER OF COVID-19 CASES, INTERMENT WILL BE IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY.
