Dorothy Elizabeth Walker, age 80

Departed this life on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Landerbrook Transitional Care after a lengthy battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Auntie was born on December 3, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, the fifth child of the late Fred & Addie Owens Sr. On January 1, 1953, Dorothy dedicated her life to Jehovah and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Auntie would receive her primary education from the Baltimore City Public School System. In 1968 Auntie moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she began her public service career with the United States Postal Service. Auntie proudly worked for 35+ years at East Cleveland (main branch) and Cranwood Post Offices. On August 8, 1973, Auntie married Franklin D. Walker in Camden, New Jersey. This union produced three sons Anthony D. Walker, Sean A. Walker, and Rick M. Walker. Preceded in death were her beloved brothers David Owens, Fred Owens Jr. LeRoy Owens, and Jerome Owens, also her eldest sister Annie M. Owens. Auntie leaves to mourn her death 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one sister, Patricia (Walter) Green, one sister-n-law, Carole Owens, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, co-workers, neighbors, and friends.
