ESTHER I. BOCKHOFF (nee CAMPERCHIOLI) age 88, passed away October 30, 2017.
Beloved wife of Frank J.(deceased). Loving mother of Frank M. and Diane; Susan and George; Celia and John; and James and Sheila. Devoted grandmother of Lisa, Kelly, Patrick, Emily, Gregory, Ross, Caitlyn, Kyle, Jonah, Timothy, and Gabriel. Beloved great-grandmother of Graham, Lachlan, Evangeline, Keira, Autumn, and Maxwell. Dearest sister of Alfred and Sonia, and Frank and Mary Jane. Loving daughter of Frank P. and Celia (nee Balzano) Camperchioli (both deceased).
1947 graduate of Glenville High School, 1969 graduate of Western Reserve University. Esther held several positions at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, including Associate Curator of Cultural Anthropology and Director of the Materials Conservation Laboratory from 1972 to 1994. She was adopted into the Blue Heron Clan of the Seneca Nation in 1977. She was the recipient of the Northern Ohio Live Magazine Achievement Award in 1985 and received 22 research grants between 1975 and 1989. She was a very involved member of the First Unitarian Church of Cleveland for 52 years, serving on the Board of Trustees.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service and reception in Esther's honor at 3 pm, Friday November 10, at the First Unitarian Church of Cleveland, 21600 Shaker Blvd., Shaker Hts, OH 44122.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Esther's name may be made to the First Unitarian Church of Cleveland.
