Frank A Johns, Sr

Francis Adam Johns (Born Dec. 31, 1932) passed away Sunday April 16, 2023 at Summa City Hospital in Akron, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years Carol Ann Johns (Kroeger) and daughter Judy Benson. He is survived by children Frank Johns Jr. (Linda), Jeanne Johns (Marc Leslie), and Jackie Ferguson (Steve), and by grandchildren Jennifer Johns (Robert Zahn), Valerie Mazzolini (Matthew), Daniel Johns and Travis Ferguson.

A teacher, he taught at Cleveland Heights Roxboro Jr. High School, Brush High School and eventually was a professor of Science Education at Cleveland State University. He was also a principal at Brookside High School in Sheffield Lake. He was educated at Gilmour Academy (Class of 1950), received a Bachelor of Arts from Case Western Reserve University, a Master’s Degree from John Caroll University and a PhD from Kent State University. He had a passion for teaching and was a lifelong learner. He also authored four books including his memoir.

Private Interment at Knollwood Cemetery. Funeral Service 2pm Friday at THE FIORITTO FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD). FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE FUNERAL HOME AFTER THE SERVICE ON FRIDAY UNTIL 5PM.
