Geoffrey R. Allin, age 71, of Chester Township, born to the late Fredrick and Lynette Allin (nee Brown) passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 6th 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Beloved husband of Joyce Peltz-Allin (nee Zimmerman) father of Pam Allin, Ryan (Alison) Allin, Jodie Modliszewski, Ray (Justine) Peltz & Julia Peltz. Grandfather of Emily, Benjamin, Nicholas, Michael, & Sophia Modliszewski. Charles, Henry, & Lucy Allin. Loving brother of Richard (Gloria) Allin, Elizabeth Allin, Carol Allin & the following deceased, Judith Crumley & Barbra Morman. Beloved uncle to numerous nephews and niece.
Geoff graduated from West Geauga high school in 1962 then served in the Vietnam War. He was an active member to the VFW Post 6519 in Chardon, Ohio as well as a member to the Fraternal order of the Cooties. He served as an honor guard escort and for many years. Geoff enjoyed leadership in scouting with Troop 195 in Chesterland. With a career as an auto mechanic Geoff owned the Gates Mills Garage, worked at Jaguar Cleveland and the Lubrizol Corporation. Geoff took pride in the automobiles he helped preserve and are still on display at the Crawford Auto Museum.
Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of life on Monday April 11, from 4:00-6:00pm at Faith Community Baptist Church 5300 East 138th street Garfield Heights Ohio 44125.
