Gerald Wittlinger, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 in Lyndhurst, Ohio. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 20, 1933, the son of Edward and Ann Wittlinger (both deceased). On June 2, 1956 he married Billie (nee Breedon) who preceded him in death after almost 62 years of marriage.
Gerald was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his 3 children and their spouses; Debra Rinella (John), Janet Bloomfield (Erik) and Gary Wittlinger (Shelly), his 6 grandchildren; Jonathan Rinella (Melissa), Tracy Wilson (Matthew), Melissa and James Sauter, Jr., Ryan and Andrew Wittlinger, and his 6 great grandchildren; Jane and Beckett Rinella, Madison, Mackenzie, Macy and Matthew Wilson.
A US Army Veteran, once he left the service, Gerald joined the family company, Shippers Highway Express Inc. which was started by his father in 1947. He worked with them from 1956 through 1972, when the company was purchased by Industrial First Inc. and Gerald became the President and Managed and grew the company until his retirement in 1998. Moving to Florida, he enjoyed many years golfing and sight-seeing with Billie.
The family will be having a private service.
