H. Norman Shure died peacefully on April 8, 2017 at Breckenridge Village in Willoughby, Ohio.. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 17, 1917, to Morris and Rose Shure nee Schlom.
He had a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer, designing and installing heating and air conditioning systems in public and corporate buildings across the greater Cleveland metropolitan area and across the United States. He was a registered Professional Engineer and a lifetime member of ASHRAE.
A Pearl Harbor survivor in the Corps of Army Engineers, Norman also served as a weatherman at Prestwick Airbase in Scotland, where he met his future wife Ishbel.
Norm is survived by daughter Sally White, sons Brian and his wife Liz, and Scott and his wife Judith, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ishbel S.T. (Lawrance) Shure.
Norman and Ishbel were long-time members of East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church. A memorial service will be held at East Shore in the summer.
