Irma Ianiro (nee Ianiro), age 100, beloved wife of Emanuele (deceased), loving mother of Bruno (wife Silvana) and Dr. Goffredo (deceased) (wife Lisa), devoted nonna of Nadia Ianiro (husband Jack Zenz), Luca (wife Michelle), Sandro (wife Maureen), Briana, Gianluca and Matteo Ianiro, bisnonna of Arianna, Sofia, Giulia, Paolo, Eliza and Francesca, loving sister of Michele (wife Orientina) Ianiro (both deceased, of Italy.)
Born and raised in Italy, she was known for her hard work and dedication to her family. After marrying Emanuele and starting a family, she worked tirelessly in the fields from early morning until late in the evening, with her mother caring for the children. In December of 1973, Irma immigrated to the United States with her family, where she worked as a laundry aide in a nursing home until the age of 72. Caring for her family was her greatest joy. Irma often joked that she never needed a vacation—having her family nearby was all the rest she ever wanted. She was famous for her delicious homemade bread and pasta, which became a treasured part of family gatherings. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and later, her great-grandchildren held an even more special place in her heart. Irma's faith was also of utmost importance to her; she faithfully watched Mass in Italian from Italy every day, often at 4 a.m. Irma celebrated her 100th birthday in April surrounded by her family, a moment she deeply cherished. Until the end of her life, she remained independent, with her son Bruno visiting her every day to assist with meals and provide care. Irma was alert and in good spirits until her passing, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her 100 years of life were filled with love, faith, and the joy of family. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
