JAMES VALENTI, age 84 of Euclid, passed away January 15 following a two month illness. James was born and raised in Cleveland. He served the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star for engaging the enemy during combat. He operated a hair salon for many years in Mayfield, then Eastlake. He also worked as a police officer, fraud investigator and wrist wrestling referee. He enjoyed golfing, ballroom dancing, camping, hunting and good food.
He is survived by his children Gina Welch (Keith), Theresa, Mario, Mark (Elaine) and Michael (Kathleen) Valenti. Brothers Lou (Toni) and Pino Valenti. Sisters Patsy Rojeck (Ed) and Rose Valenti as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Philip and Carmelina (nee Papaleo) Valenti and his former wife Rosemarie.
