John Michael Bencie

John Michael Bencie (June 30, 1959-January 31, 2020) born John Michael Chambers in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Gary Chambers and Verna (Thomas) Bencie has passed away at the age of 60. John was the youngest brother of Gary Bencie (wife Barb), Judy Andexler (husband Don) and Debra Chambers (deceased: 1957-1958). His mother married the late Michael Bencie and gave birth to John's youngest siblings Michael Bencie and JoAnn Wyno (husband Jim). As a young adult, John married Cindy Helderlein and gave birth to his eldest daughter Ruth Marie Helderlein. John remarried Marcie (Frato) Kozyra (husband Greg) and the couple gave birth to three children in the almost 20 years they spent together, Anthony Joseph (31), Mary Joy (28) and Elizabeth Grace Bencie (25). John was also the proud grandfather of Isabella Grace and Anthony Jr. Bencie, the beautiful children of Anthony and Kate (Saxon) Bencie.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Saint Malachi where John did volunteer work and regularly attended meetings for AA.

John will be missed by all those who knew him because to know him was to love him, and to love him was the greatest gift his family could have been given.
