John R. DiFrancisco of Richmond Heights, OH passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at the age of 82.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, JoAnn DiFrancisco, and he was a proud father and grandfather. John “Jay” was an immediately likeable guy who genuinely saw the best in people. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him could easily see his good nature and kindness. His legacy was how well he treated others.
After running a small business, DIFCO Electronics, with his brother for decades, Jay worked for the Cleveland Clinic in patient transportation, where he was able to offer his help to people in need, up until he retired. He was also a lifelong devoted fan of Cleveland sports teams, and his part time “joy” job was ushering at the baseball and basketball games downtown, where he was able to soak in an atmosphere that he loved, which was a crowded stadium or arena that was full of fellow fans, hoping that a Cleveland team will make it all the way.
But what he loved most of all was being around his family. Whether it was gathered around a dinner table or just sitting quietly watching a movie or a game on TV, he was happiest when he was with his family.
He is survived by his three children: Susan (Dave) Futey, Stacey Lora, John A. DiFrancisco; his three grandchildren: Sarah Lora, Mary Futey, Evan Futey; his brothers Fred (Marie Elena) DiFrancisco, and Bill (Joanna) DiFrancisco, and many other friends and extended family.
An Inurnment ceremony will be held at Lakeview Cemetery on Saturday January 3rd, 2026 at 1:00PM, in the Garden Crypt section 29 (entrance from Mayfield Rd)
