John G Saurage

John Glenn Saurage (77) of Lyndhurst, OH passed away on March 29, 2022 as a result of pancreatic cancer. His cancer battle was short as he was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer on March 1, 2022. 

John is survived by his wife Denise (nee Bauman) of 52 years, his daughter, Kimberly, and his son, Jonathan (Kari); his grandchildren Matthew, Cassidy and Madeline; his brothers Michael, Jim and Mark; his sisters Phyllis, Liz and Seery. He was preceded in death by Frank Saurage (father), Lorraine Saurage (mother), Mary Jo Sciarrino (sister), Michelle Saurage (niece), Glenda Saurage (sister-in-law), Lyle Bauman(father-in-law), Katherine Bauman (mother-in-law), and Colette Schmidt (sister-in-law).

John was born in Farmington, Missouri and lived in Bismarck, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Air Force, then moved to Los Angeles, CA where he met his wife and started a family. In 1989, the family moved to Cleveland. John made his career as a salesman in many industries, most notably in the manufactured piping industry. He was also active in many organizations - President of Toastmasters chapter, Knights of Columbus, Meals on Wheels, and coach of various children sports teams.

John adored his grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. He was proud of his Cajun heritage, appreciated the art of George Rodrigue, loved to read books and listen to music. Some of his favorite musicians were The Neville Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and The Eagles. His spirit and passion will be missed.

Interment Private. Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Thursday at St Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills. Friends may call at THE FIORITTO FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD) 6-8 PM WEDNESDAY.
