John J Tarr

On Tuesday, October 13, 2020, John Joseph Tarr, loving husband and father of four passed away at the age of 92.John was born on January 27,1928 in Cleveland, Ohio to Mary and John Tartaglione. In1946, he served as seaman first class in the USNR before attending Kent State University, joining the Theta Kappa Phi Fraternity, and becoming an accountant. John devoted himself to providing for his family. The majority of his career was spent working for General Electric at the Pitney Glass Plant. He was a lifelong golfer and liked fishing with his GE coworkers. He enjoyed a trip to Italy to learn more of his Italian heritage and spending retirement winters in Florida. John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and John Tartaglione; his brothers, Gerald Tartaglione and Robert John Tarr; and his beloved wife of 68 years, Thelma. He is survived by his children, Gregory (Debbie), Susan, Luanne Ciha (Thomas) and Robert (Dorothy); his grandchildren, Marissa Thompson (Howard), Roger Stein, Philip (Molly), Olivia, and Dominic; and his great grandchildren, Elena, Jordan, Rose and Xavier.
Services and entombment at Lake View Cemetery will be private.
