Joseph Henry Rossi

Joseph Henry Rossi, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024 after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Claudia (Crossett) Rossi for 45 years. Born June 2, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio; the son of the late Joseph and Milena (Giannessi) Rossi.

Joe graduated with a master’s degree in economics from SUNY-Binghamton. He worked in banking and retired from Tolland Bank as the President and CEO. After retiring at 56, he enjoyed many years of teaching economics at local community colleges.

He was an avid golfer, talented woodworker and loved playing cards with family and friends. He also loved being in Wellfleet, MA where the family could often find him sitting in his Adirondack chair, enjoying a cigar and the stunning view of the Cape. Most importantly, he was a dedicated grandfather to his “best buds” and loved all the time they shared together.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his beloved children, Joseph Rossi and wife Jill of Hamden and Carly Lee and husband Jonathan of Simsbury; cherished granddaughters, Charlotte and Carolina Lee and Francesca Rossi; sister, Patricia Salahshour of Cleveland, OH; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Eleanor Hudson (husband Paul survives) and brother David (wife Mary survives).
