Josephine Capretta

Josephine C. Capretta. To those of you who knew Josephine well, she loved to sing, dance, bowl and was a very social person. She was a devoted member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (ISDA) for over 70 years in the Fidelia Lodge 169, serving on District Council and as a National Officer. she was a volunteer usher at the Front Row Theater where she was able to enjoy many of her favorite entertainers for over 20 years.

She had a head for numbers and started her work life at Western Reserve University in the payroll department. She paused her career when her children came along. She re-entered the workforce through various part-time jobs and worked in accounts payable for Picker International where she received several awards for her work and dedication.

She was a devout Catholic and believed the Lord blessed her in so many ways. She would sing every song in church and even on the way home, and she belonged to church choirs. She loved Broadway tunes, Italian music and opera, her favorite was Puccini's "Madama Butterfly." All music seemed to engage her soprano voice.
She was such a strong woman. She had the strength and courage to navigate life's challenges and tragedies with grace. Even in her final hours, she amazed her family and caregivers with fortitude.

Josephine was the beloved wife of Palmerino Capretta (deceased), the cherished mother of Paulette Fantozzi (husband Frank) and Michael Capretta, the devoted grandmother of Nicole and Natalie Fantozzi, Palmer and Dominic Capretta, loving daughter of Michael and Liboria (nee Lupica) Consiglio, and the dear sister of the following deceased: Gus Consiglio (Frances Undicelli), Bessie Consiglio, Antoinette Mackris (Nick) and Vincetta Tranchita (Tony).
