LAVERNE LYN PENN (nee REGALSKI)
Born January 20, 1945 and entered eternal life April 25, 2026.
Lyn was a lifelong animal lover, from after school shenanigans in her youth with her best friend Theresa Moore playing with baby tigers while they were being bottle fed, or denied access to Theresa’s restroom after school because the alligator was bathing in the tub, there were animals in her life to her last days with her grand kitty, Roxie and grand dog, Bolt visiting her at the rehabilitation center.
She entered God’s kingdom by way of the Rainbow Bridge, where she was greeted by her beloved pups, Alfie, Sonny and Princess.
Lyn was a prolific reader of mystery novels, a huge supporter of any cause she could walk for in the Florida Keys, and most especially her animals. From turtle releases on the beaches of the Keys, walking 7 Mile Bridge in the Keys for Cystic Fibrosis and volunteering with the ASPCA in Key Largo.
Lynn had her heart stolen by William E. Penn on October 31, 1966 and they celebrated 59 wonderful years of marriage on April 22, 2026. Together they traveled the world for his job and she was able, many times to tag along for fun. Lyn and Bill fished in Canada, wintered in their beloved Islamorada, Florida and disappeared on 14 cruises over their nearly 6 decades together. From a week at Pelican Cove, to a month, to then renting the same home in Islamorada for 6 months for many years.
Laverne was the beloved bride of William Edward Penn for 59 years. She was the honorary mother of Susan (Billy) Milner and Lisa Goldrick. She was the honorary grandmother of Lyda (Michael) Cowman, Jessica (Kevin) Pietropinto, Vincent (Maddie) Milner, Samantha (Kevin) Corrao, and Annastastia (Ryan) Goldrick. She was the honorary great grandmother of Kayden & Christian Pietropinto. Lyn was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Laverne Regalski, grandson Scott Goldrick and great grandson Lincoln Pietropinto.
Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. Funeral Services 9:30 am Thursday at THE FIORITTO FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD ROAD, LYNDHURST (EAST OF RICHMOND ROAD), where friends may call 3-7 pm Wednesday.
