Lucia Ricci (nee Capretta) age 92 passed away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family on April 10, 2016 exactly 24 years to the date of the death of her husband Ovidio, to whom she was married to for 51 years.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her 8 children; Tony (Sharon), Mario (deceased), John, Frances Tomba (Greg), Helen Rafferty (Jack), Thomas (Joan), Mary Frate (James), and Michael.
She was a revered example to her 13 lucky grandchildren, Joanne, John (Angela), Jennifer Martinitis (Chris), Jason (deceased), John Patrick, Kathleen (Nate), Anthony (Katie), Jameson (Shannon), Alicia Huntington (Eric), Alena, Dominic, Joseph, and Michael.
Grandma Ricci was an icon to her 9 great grandchildren Massimo, Christian, Nick, Samuel, Ellie, Nolan, Ethan, Ella, and Aria.
Lucia was a fiercely devout Catholic, never missing her daily mass or prayers and was active in her three beloved parishes-- Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (East),
St.Clare and St. Francis of Assisi. Lucia lived a truly accomplished and blessed life and was happiest when she was with her family or helping others. Her warm smile and loving words were evident even during her darkest hours. She cherished her many years working with medically needy children at The Sunbeam School in Cleveland, Ohio and considered those kids as an extension of her family. May Lucia's grace, generosity, wisdom, kindness, strength and love forever live in the people she's touched.
