MARIE CARUSO RUSSO, a native of Cleveland, died peacefully on the 1st of January, 2015 at Pleasant Lake Villa Nursing Home in Parma, Ohio at age 95. Born on September 24, 1919, Marie graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and completed her Master's in Education at Case Western Reserve University. Marie was a beloved teacher in the Cleveland Heights/University Heights school system. During her career, she taught at Taylor, Canterbury, and Roxboro elementary school, along with special reading classes. A devoted mother, Marie's first love was always her family. She is survived by her son Paul Russo, of Flint Hill, Virginia, her daughter Jean Russo, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and her granddaughters Allison and Katherine Russo of Washington, D.C. Marie was one of four Caruso children: Paul, Jay and Angie, and her extended family includes Darla and Lou Capasso, their children, and her niece Charlene Galione. A small, private ceremony with immediate family was held to honor Marie's memory.
