Mary Jo Salupo (née Sirianni), age 77, born May 22, 1948, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.
A devoted and loving wife for 41 years to her late husband Gary, a cherished mother, and a proud Nonni, Mary Jo lived a life defined by warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith.
She was the loving mother of Vince (wife Angel) and Nichole Salupo, and the treasured grandmother of Jena (fiancé Jenna Steinberger), Benjamin, Danny, Samantha, and Dominic. She was the beloved daughter of Frank and Mary (née Harchar) Sirianni (both deceased), and the dear sister of Loretta Dobbert (husband Ray) (both deceased), Dolores Gentile (husband John), Frank (wife MaryAnn), and Peggy Shalala (husband Don). She was a loving aunt and great‑aunt to many who adored her.
Mary Jo was a woman whose warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith shaped every chapter of her life and touched every person fortunate enough to know her.
She was known for her welcoming spirit—an open door, a kind smile, and a genuine interest in the well‑being of others. Family gatherings were her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into hosting holidays filled with laughter, tradition, and the comfort of her wonderful cooking. Her home was a place where everyone felt embraced, nourished, and deeply cared for.
Throughout her life, she selflessly devoted herself to caring for others. She spent many years as a loving caregiver for the elderly, offering compassion, patience, and dignity to those who needed it most. Her gentle presence and willingness to help were reflections of her character and the values instilled in her from childhood—values she lived out every single day.
Her Catholic faith was an extremely important part of her life and served as her foundation through moments of joy, challenge, and quiet reflection. She carried her faith with grace, and it guided the way she loved, served, and treated others.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family, her joyful spirit during holidays, and the countless lives she touched simply by being who she was. Her memory will remain a blessing in the hearts of all who loved her.
