Obituary

Patricia Dambis (née Cosman), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21 at age 84.

She was born February 21, 1942, in Lakewood, Ohio, the daughter of the late Helen Cosman (nee Molt) and John Cosman, and went on to graduate from Magnificat High School in 1960.

Of Pat’s many admired traits and talents was her ability to find joy in the little things. Among her passions were admiring art, gardening, getting together with friends, playing cards, and going through the drive-thru for a Diet Coke “with very little ice.” She loved to watch ice skating and tennis on tv at the highest volume possible. We are forever grateful to know that her memory will live on in the little things.

Pat is the infinitely cherished mother of Lisa Serre. Pat often served as Lisa's dedicated co-pilot on countless car trips both near and far. They long shared a love for gardening, caring for animals and a good meal in Little Italy, accompanied by a fabulous chocolate martini.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Serre (Michael); nephews Christopher Morrow-Thompson (William), Jason Morrow (Tracy) and Jeffrey Morrow; niece Kelly Ribar (Eric); grandchildren Patricia Serre (Paul Moran), Jared Serre (Abby), Rachel Serre, and great-granddaughter Angelina Serre.

Pat also leaves behind a long list of cherished friends, many of whom she’s known for decades, some going as far back as elementary school (St. James). They deserve special recognition for entertaining her shenanigans and tom foolery for all these years.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Morrow, and brother Ralph Cosman; and dear friends Shirley Mette, John O’Boyle, and Jane and Lenny Hrdlicka.

A celebration of Patricia’s life, where friends and family are encouraged to share their favorite memories of her, will be held on Thursday, November 12 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Christopher Church in Rocky River, followed by Mass and Interment at Lakewood Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to Daffodil Hill at Lakeview Cemetery Gardenshttps://www.lakeviewcemetery.com/our-foundation/campaigns/daffodil-hill — one of her favorite spring time places to spend time — or to Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in Highland Heights, where Pat was a devoted parishioner for decades.

We are never truly ready for the last breath.
