Raymond L Brown, PhD, age 89

Died peacefully on November 26, 2018 surrounded by members of his loving family. Ray was born March 3, 1929 in Cleveland to Elizabeth (nee Brown) and Henry Brown. The family moved to Garfield Hts where he grew up. He attended Cleveland schools and graduated from John Adams High School. His college years were spent at Heidelberg University where he graduated with a major in Physics and The Ohio State University where he earned his Masters and PhD. He was employed by General Electric at Nela Park for over 30 years in Research and Development.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Zoe Ann (nee Behm), sons Andrew, Bruce (Lisa), Darrell (Rosemary), daughter Lois Curren (Garry) and brother Robert (Linda). He was the proud grandfather of Bethany Saunders (Randall), Matthew Mesenger (Cori), Adam Mesenger (Cassie), Jakob Brown (Alison), Kevin Brown (Kacie), Charles and Austin Curren, Alexis and Tyler Gonzales. Ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Earl (Marie, deceased), Kenneth (Helen) and William (Betty). He was active in The Church of the Covenant and the "Old Goats," (a GE retirement group). He also served as a Boy Scout leader when his sons were growing up.

Services will be held at 10 am Saturday, December 8 at The Church of the Covenant, 11205 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, with a reception to follow. His ashes will be interred in the church's Columbarium.
