Richard DiPietro, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026.
He was born to the late Antonio and Rosina DiPietro and was the beloved husband of the late Valeria (nee DiCianno), with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by his sons, Angelo (wife Alaina) and Patrick (wife Karen); his cherished grandchildren, Gianna Dudman (husband Koty), Domenic (wife Megan), and Nina; his dear sister, Fanny Marchioli (husband Mario, deceased). He was preceded in death by his brother, Rocco. Richard was also a loving uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Rich immigrated to America from Cupello, Italy, with his family in 1948 at the age of 14. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the United States Army. Throughout his working career, Rich was employed by Ohio Gear, Tow Motor, Orlando Baking Company, and the City of Shaker Heights. He retired at the age of 62 and devoted his time to the things he loved most.
Rich found great joy in watching the Cleveland Indians and tending to his amazing garden and beautiful yard. He especially loved starting his own plants from seed and growing a wonderful variety of vegetables. Generous by nature, he took great pleasure in sharing the bounty of his garden with family, friends, and others.
Rich treasured time spent with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his hard work, generous spirit, love of gardening, and the many memories he created with those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
