ROBERT E. JACKSON, born August 26, 1926 to Ada and Everett J. Jackson and lived his youth in Burton, Ohio. At 17, Bob enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor until the end of WWII. He attended Hiram College and Kent State University getting degrees in Education and Administration. Bob dedicated his 34 years in education totally to West Geauga Schools in Chesterland, serving as a teacher at Chester, and a principal at Russell, the Junior High/Middle School and the High School. He spent most of his career at the Middle School/Junior High level, which was the age he thoroughly enjoyed.

After retirement he spent the next decade in support of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association moving through the ranks from District Director to President. One of the achievements of which he was most proud was working with retired teachers and being able to help active teachers plan for retirement.

The last two decades of retirement, Bob and Nancy enjoyed winters in Florida with friends and summers in Ohio with family.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy, 3 wonderful children, Cynthia Penter (Gordon Van Metre), Sandra Nelson (Eric Nelson) and Michael Jackson (Arjay Lorana), 8 devoted grandchildren and their spouses, and 10 adorable great grandchildren.
