Ronald Michael Grobelny

9/1/41 - 7/12/23, 81 Years old

Ronald M. Grobelny, age 81, passed away on July 12, 2023. He was a loving husband of 54 years to Sheila Grobelny (nee DiVincenzo); loving father of Kevin (Sheryl) and Chris (Maria); and proud “Dzia Dzia” (grandfather) of Madeline, Juliana, Jackson, Nicholas, and Michael. Ron, his brothers Joseph (deceased) and Richard (deceased), and sisters Karen Mekesa (Gintas) and Cathy Soukup (Tom) were raised in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland, OH by parents Myron and Josephine Grobelny (nee Checki) (both deceased).

After graduating from Benedictine High School in 1959, Ron was drafted by the US Army and served as a military police officer. He then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business management from John Carrol University and MBA from Baldwin Wallace University. He enjoyed a successful career as a materials manager in the manufacturing industry at SPS Technologies, TRW, and MTD Products.

Ron wholeheartedly believed everyone should follow their passion, which for him was music. He performed with the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) as a community member, yet he remained an avid student, continually striving to grow as a musician. Retirement allowed him to pursue his love of music as a piano and trumpet teacher at Motter’s Music House in Cleveland, OH, and after moving to Sarasota, FL, he became an instructor at the Suzuki Institute School of Music. Ron loved being a member of the Sarasota Piano Friends, a group of intermediate, prodigy, and professional pianists providing monthly performances for the public.

Ron’s positive outlook on life was contagious. Everyone who knew him loved to ask him how he was doing, because they always knew he would answer with a highly enthusiastic, “FANTASTIC!” Ron was an inspiration and role model to all that knew him, and he will be missed immensely.

A memorial mass will be held September 2, 2023, 10:00 am, at St. Clare Church located at 5659 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst, OH 44124.
