Rosemary Loretta Owen (nee Hufnagel) 89 passed away peacefully on June 10, 2017 at The Merriman of West Akron, Ohio. She was born in Queens, New York on August 19, 1928 to William and Elizabeth Hufnagel. She is survived by her children Charles Joseph Owen (Dumont) of Cleveland Heights, Ohio and Polly Ann Daher (Nadim) of Copley, Ohio. She was grandmother to Christopher Daher (Dana), Emily Daher-Fiagbedzi (Joshua), Alex Daher and Luke Daher. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Marvin Doyle Owen and her sister Magdeline Hufnagel. She is also survived and loved by her aide Appling Malone and her many friends and the staff at the Merriman.
Rosemary was a native of Ridgewood, Queens, New York and a long-time Cleveland Heights, Ohio resident. She was an active member of Church of the Saviour (United Methodist) of Cleveland Heights for 54 years. She served Church of the Saviour for many years as a volunteer worker at the church thrift shop, the Treasure Chest.
She enjoyed the arts and was a constant companion with her husband Doyle at jazz and classical music concerts. She was passionate about vintage films and was a devoted fan of Turner Classic Movies. Her family and friends will always remember her for her love of the song "Always" written by Irving Berlin. The song is a fitting tribute of the deep and enduring love that she had for her husband and partner, Doyle. "I'll be loving you always. With a love that's true always."
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Family and friends will gather in the church Parlor at 11:00 a.m. with the service at 12:00 noon in the Sanctuary followed by a reception in the Parlor. In honor of Rosemary's sunny spirit, please come to the service dressed in bright colors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "The "Merriman Good Life Foundation" or "Harbor Light Hospice" (Akron). Condolences may be sent to 1918 Jacoby Road, Copley Ohio 44321.
