Spiro J. Paravalos
Age 91. Passed away unexpectedly December 4, 2020. Beloved husband for 66 years of Anna (nee Tsengas). Cherished Father of Callie (Peter) Sevastos, Eugenia (George) Sintsirmas, and John (Annette). Precious Grandfather of John (Nicole) Sevastos; Renee (Damian) Blakeley; Don (Pamela) Sevastos; Spiro, Alex, Demetri and Anna Sintsirmas; and Annemarie and Emanuel Paravalos. Great Grandfather of Peter, Raymond and Rini Sevastos; Callie, Marianna and Francesca Blakeley. Loved brother of Elias (deceased), Pantelis and Angelo (Angelike); and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Greece, Spiro immigrated to the United States and proudly served in the US Armed Forces. While living in the US, he never forgot his Greek faith or heritage. He devoted his life to his family and Church. He lead and instructed others by example and through acts of kindness.
Spiro lived everyday with joy and reverence. He had a story to fit every occasion and a distinct voice that could be heard across the room. He dutifully served his community and was a shining example of how a man can age gracefully.
Spiro's passing reminds us that while we must all inevitably face our own mortality, we can do so with dignity, courage, and, if we are lucky, a loving family around us at our final moments.
Spiro, you will be sorely missed but forever with us. May your memory be eternal.
Family suggests donations in lieu of flowers be made in his memory to Sts. Constantine and Helen Cathedral or to the Sts. Constantine and Helen Choir. 3352 Mayfield Rd. Cleveland Ht. 44118.
