VIRGINIA MAY HOLTZ (nee Pettis), age 91, died June 5, 2016 at Amelia Grace Assisted Living in Chesterland, OH. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the wife for 43 years of Burdette B. Holtz, who died Feb. 20, 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Bernice Calabrese (John), grandchildren Enzio Calabrese (Robin), Carl A. Calabrese (Carrie) and Angela Ciora, 8 great grandchildren, her brother David Owens of Wickliffe, sister Alice Newton of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. Virginia graduated in 1942 from East High School in Cleveland and worked for 19 years as a cook and cafeteria manager at Eastlake Junior HIgh in the Willoughby Eastlake School District. After retiring, she spent many years volunteering for the Salvation Army Temple Hills Core in Cleveland and then at the Geauga Environmental Health Department in Chardon, OH. She was a long-time resident of Willowick and Wickliffe before moving to Claridon Township in 2001. Interment Whitehaven Memorial Park.
